German Settlers Day is kept and observed each year on June 7th in the Province of Nova Scotia. This date was established in the 58th General Assembly of the Nova Scotia Legislature in 2001 under the title German Settlers Day Act to recognize the German settlers of Nova Scotia.
This year's German Settlers Day celebration comprises two main events: Halifax event and Bridgewater event. The events will raise awareness of German Settlers Day (June 7th) in Nova Scotia, and honour the heritage of German Settlers as well as the narrative survived by the descendants and German-speaking immigrants to Nova Scotia.
Halifax event will have a speakers' series, music and finger food for you to experience the authenticity of German culture, in Canada. Bridgewater event will be an open-house type event, where you will be able to experience the legacy of German Settlers by means of literature and conversations with locals, who are of German Settlers' descent.
