What is Totally OUTright?

Totally OUTright in PEI & NS is a FREE, sexual health leadership program for young gay, bi, two-spirit, trans and queer (GB2STQ+) guys from across  Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia. It’s for young men who are interested in meeting other guys, and learning more about their sexual health and overall well being.

What happens at Totally OUTright?

Over five days, participants will engage in interactive, thought provoking presentations from community leaders and experts in GB2STQ+ men’s health. Topics range from: coming out to sex, relationships to drug related harm reduction, community history to accessing healthcare, and a whole lot in between!  

Who is Totally OUTright for?

Totally OUTright in PEI & NS is for for young gay, bi, trans, two-spirit and queer (GB2STQ+) guys who are 18-29 years of age. This includes both transgender and cisgender guys, masculine-identified folks, guys from all backgrounds and identities, and guys living with HIV.

When & where does Totally OUTright take place?

The next Totally OUTright in PEI & NS will run in Halifax May 4-8, 2019. The program space is wheelchair accessible and will have a gender-neutral and wheelchair accessible washroom available. The program runs each day from 9am-5pm, which includes lunch and breaks. 


What do participants get out of Totally OUTright?

Participants of Totally OUTright in PEI & NS have the opportunity to:

  • Connect with other gay, bi, two-spirit, trans, and queer (GB2STQ+) guys from across the region;

  • Learn more about their sexual and mental health, and how to have healthier relationships;

  • Network and learn from GB2STQ+ community leaders;

  • Gain a greater understanding of local GB2STQ+ / LGBTQ+ history;

  • Become better acquainted with local organizations and community partners;

  • Receive updates on: volunteer opportunities, advisory committee positions, job postings, and on opportunities to engage through events and workshops.

Is there a cost for Totally OUTright?

Totally OUTright in PEI & NS is provided to participants completely FREE of charge, including lunches and snack breaks during the program. We also offer travel and accommodation assistance (including morning and evening meals) to those who would not be able to attend otherwise.


Who is behind Totally OUTright?

Totally OUTright was created by the Vancouver-based Community Based Research Centre for Gay Men's Health (CBRC) and has been implemented by a number of organizations across Canada including: Health Initiative for Men (HIM, Vancouver), ACT (Toronto), the Rainbow Resource Centre (Winnipeg), Calgary Sexual Health Centre, the AIDS Committee of Ottawa, and the Peel HIV/AIDS Network.
