My name is Laura and I recently founded Whale Song Theatre - a brand new theatre company in Halifax, NS.

We’re committed to producing high quality theatre that’s accessible to Nova Scotian artists at every stage of their career. We tend towards musicals, but really that’s only because we’re fans of a great ballad!

Whale Song Theatre believes in giving back to the community that supports the work we do with our collaborators, so we pick a local charity to raise awareness for during the run of our shows.

Our first production is “Heathers: The Musical” based on the cult classic film from the 80s. The show goes up at The Bus Stop Theatre from February 21-26, 2017.

”Heathers: The Musical” is in support of Phoenix Youth Programs here in Halifax. We’re fundraising to cover the costs of our production so that we can donate as much as possible to this incredible organization.

Phoenix is a non-profit, community based organization located in Halifax, Nova Scotia. At Phoenix they believe people matter – all people. Since 1987, Phoenix has been dedicated to supporting youth between the ages of 11 and 24, families, and communities across multiple locations in Halifax. Their team of caring professionals recognizes that each person who comes to them has unique needs and personal strengths. They believe that people are the leaders in their own lives; Phoenix is a leader in supporting them.

Every dollar raised goes to cover our production costs, and every dollar over that will be donated to Phoenix House.

Thank you so much for your support! You’re not only helping us put on a high quality production, but giving back to your community as well.
